CC Cycle 3, History, Homeschooling

Happy 2018!! New Cycle 3 Canadian History songs

It’s about that time, when all the holiday get togethers are dying down and we are slowly getting ready for another round of CC to start!  I hope you all had a wonderful time with your loved ones and that this year you would share many God filled moments.

Week 13: The Constitutional Act of 1791 in Canada. Here are some ideas of how you can present the song to your students. I highly recommend the hand motions for this one because it is very long and wordy.

  • British: pretend to drink a cup of tea
  • Constitutional Act: Pretend to have one hand as the paper and the other signs off.
  • 1791: with fingers, show 7, 9, 1
  • Divide: same as in timeline song, two hands together and push them apart.
  • Québec: Here’s the ASL sign for the Province of Québec.
  • Upper Canada: this part of the song goes up so have the kids go up high on the tip of their toes
  • Lower Canada: Have them use a low voice and crouch down low.
  • Representative: with two hands held out straight, have them go down to represent 3 categories (choppy motion up and down) Eek! That one is a little hard to describe!
  • British: teacup motion again 🙂
  • Rule: make a fist with one hand and let it fall on the palm of your other hand.

Week 14: War of 1812

I have uploaded a file to CC Connected called Wk 14- Canadian History Headbands. It’s simply pictures of all three characters in the sentence. Or you could act it out and have other characters such as the British troops, American troops and fortresses. Here’s some extra info on Shawnee Chief Tecumseh.

Songs for weeks 13 and 14 have been uploaded to CC Connected under the user: ccmaplemama.  Stay up to date on the latest postings, the rest of the history songs will be going up to CC connected very soon as well as weekly review cards and weekly fill in the blank sheets!

Blessings!
